Latest Updates from Our Project:

Online flash cards now available to everyone, for free
over 3 years ago – Wed, Oct 07, 2020 at 04:45:25 PM

We've decided to share and share broadly the new, free, online version of Multiplication by Heart. Developed in collaboration with Mathigon, this version of the cards allows the basic structure to be available to anyone who needs it. With so many students working remotely, I only hope that this helps students, teachers, and families in this challenging time.

Check it out here, and please share widely!

In other news, we now have the cards and the instructions finished, and I'll be writing a last bit of text for the box today. We're waiting on mock-ups from printers right now. It's taking a little longer than usual, but things still are on track for an early 2021 delivery.

And if you backed at the $40 level to get a copy of Prime Climb, that part of your reward has been shipped to you! Enjoy!

Some quick announcements
over 3 years ago – Tue, Sep 08, 2020 at 10:06:03 PM

Quick announcements on the fulfillment process:

  • If you still need to fill out your survey, we just sent you another reminder. If you never got one, here's the link you need to check out.
  • If you ordered anything extra on BackerKit AFTER the Kickstarter campaign, we'll be charging your credit card soon. (If not, you won't have any additional charges. If you can't remember, you probably didn't.)
  • If you backed us at the $40 reward level "Play From The Heart," we have a copy of Prime Climb to send you! These will be shipping out next week. In the very unlikely event that you need your copy to go to a different address, you can update your address through this weekend by going here and getting access to your survey again.

Our graphic designer feels confident that we can finish all the design for the box and instructions by the end of September. I was hoping that we'd be a little ahead of where we are now, but with samples from the factory and quality control checks, we are almost certainly going to be running into 2021 for the fulfillment of Multiplication by Heart. It's not ideal, but the pandemic, and especially our response to it, building a remote curriculum, put us here.

The good news is that I think we are going to have an online version available sooner. I'm still gathering info on a potential partnership, but I'm very hopeful that we'll have something available online before the year is out.

I'll share more news when I have it!

90% of surveys are complete, design continues
over 3 years ago – Wed, Sep 02, 2020 at 01:31:57 AM

Hi Everyone,

Since we sent out the surveys from BackerKit to collect your mailing addresses, we've had about 90% of you fill them out. Thanks! Unless you move, that's all you need to do.

If you indicated you didn't want a reward, or backed with less than $20, then you didn't get a survey.

That leaves 72 of you who got surveys but haven't filled them out yet. We'll be reminding you to fill them out until you do. You can go HERE to have your survey sent to your inbox now. Thanks!

(You can also use that link to check if you've completed your survey if you don't remember doing it. In general, don't worry - we'll make sure you get a box if you backed the campaign.)

Design is still moving on. Currently, we're involved in the finicky business of making the rules. Spaced repetition is a little subtle to explain, but I'm working with our graphic designer to come up with something clean and clear. Here's a sample, which will actually be amended further, but just to give you the gist.

In other news, I'm also exploring the possibility of creating an online/app version of the cards. No news on this yet, but I'll share if/when I have something.

Hope you're doing well and staying safe!
